Wildwood NJ Lifeguards Are Back 2026 | Beach Safety Schedule + Guard Stations

The Beach Ball Bunnies are officially on high alert. 🐰🏖️ Wildwood NJ lifeguards are coming back, and if you’re planning a beach trip this summer, here’s everything you need to know before you hit the sand.

Lifeguards Return May 23rd, 2026

Guard coverage kicks off Memorial Day Weekend, May 23-25, then continues every weekend through June 16th. Starting with full summer season coverage after that. Hours on duty: 10AM to 5:30PM daily.

12 Guard Stations: Cresse Ave to 26th Street

Wildwood maintains 12 lifeguard stations stretching from Cresse Avenue all the way to 26th Street. Whether you’re at the north end or the south end of the beach, a guard is nearby during coverage hours.

Red Flag Rules: Know Before You Go

  • 🚩 Red flag flying? No swimming. Red flag means dangerous surf conditions. This is not a suggestion.
  • No lifeguard on duty? No swimming. Early morning and evening hours are unguarded. The ocean doesn’t take a break.

2026 is a milestone year. As the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary, Wildwood is going all-in on the festivities. Expect special events, patriotic programming along the boardwalk, and a summer to remember at the Shore.
